The Old Bath in Çekirge, a distinguished district of Bursa where history meets nature’s beauty, has been a source of healing since ancient times.

The Old Bath has been used since the Roman Era, and it is even believed that this place is the secret behind the beauty and youth of the Byzantine queen Thedora. After the conquest of Bursa by the Ottomans, the Old Bath underwent a large-scale restoration in 1389 during the reign of Sultan Murat Hüdavendigar I, and a second restoration was carried out faithfully to the original when our hotel opened.

The third and last restoration was completed in August 2013, which included the construction of a Family Bath – a brand new service of our hotel put at the disposal of our guests in addition to our renewed Ladies and Men’s baths.

The Family Bath is home to HUMA, HAFSA, HÜRREM and KÖSEM SULTAN baths which are all exquisitely decorated for boundless thermal bath pleasure.

Our thermal water is oligo-metallic, hypotonic mineral water with a temperature of 44 °C, rich in bicarbonate and calcium ions.  You can benefit from the healing effect of these thermal waters and relieve the tiredness of the day with a special Turkish-style scrub and foam massage.

While relaxing in the authentic atmosphere of our Turkish bath, you can refresh with the drinks of our Thermal Bar and experience the old and the new together. The historic bath offers you an incomparable bath and spa experience with the healing effect of our thermal waters that have been proven to have a significant ameliorating effect on a broad range of diseases, including:

● Chronic stages of inflammatory rheumatic diseases (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, etc.)

● Rheumatic diseases of the soft tissues (Lumbago Fibrositis, Myalgia, etc.)

● Our thermal department is open every day of the week between 07:00-22:00.

If your room is not on Floor 2 of our hotel, you can easily reach the Thermal Department by taking the elevator to the second floor and following the wall signs along the hallway.
